2019年6月20日，成都七中国际部2019届学子毕业典礼暨学生成人礼仪式圆满落幕。成都七中国际部领导和AP 、IFY 的100余名毕业生，全体高三教师及家长代表在这里相聚，师生情意浓浓，家长们笑意融融，全体毕业生信心十足，在学子即将离别母校的难忘时刻，共同绽放岁月精彩，放飞青春梦想！
学校的IFY课程自1999年开设以来，已有20年历史，培养了众多学子前往英澳国家深造。如今也有48位学子将踏上英国的征程，值此，我们很荣幸地邀请到了IFY课程合作方—NCUK的学术总监Emma给同学们带来毕业祝福。
Principal Hu Xia, graduates, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon.
Firstly, thank you to Principal Hu Xia and the dedicated team at No 7 Middle School International Department for inviting me to Chengdu. This is not my first trip to China, but it is to Chengdu and it’s a privilege to be sharing your special afternoon with you.
With us here are students who have completed the NCUK International Foundation Year and have made applications to study at and been offered conditional places at NCUK Universities including Manchester, Kent, Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Bristol and Huddersfield. I graduated from Huddersfield with a Bachelor of Education. All are highly regarded, leading intuitions in their fields with a long legacy of welcoming students from China.
Students will be progressing onto a range of degree programmes such as Computer Science and AI, Economics and Politics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology, Aerospace Engineering and International Business Management.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all students and their parents and to NCUK’s collaborative partnership in Chengdu with No7 Middle School International Department. We guarantee places at university to all our successful students. That’s our guarantee to you and graduates here today have fulfilled it by working hard with the excellent support you have from all at No 7 Middle School International Dept and NCUK in passing your foundation programme studied here at No 7 Middle School International Dept.
80% of NCUK students go on to graduate with a 1st or second-class honours degree – an incredible achievement which helps to highlight the fact that our students are extremely well prepared for education in the UK.
The UK education system has an outstanding reputation for quality and excellence, UK qualifications are recognised all over the world, giving graduates a head start in the global jobs market.
Earlier this year the UK Government launched an ambitious new International Education Strategy with the aim of increasing capacity to educate 30% more international students by 2030. This capacity will be supported by improved visas requirements and opportunities for post study UK based work experience. This presents a fantastic opportunity to build on success of the NCUK and No 7 Middle School International Department partnership.
Recognising and celebrating our students’ success is a huge part of the NCUK ethos and again meant we were very keen to be here today to celebrate the academic success of you all. This is a very special occasion where together with your families, academic tutors and staff we are here to mark the end of one set of challenges and the beginning of a new and exciting journey. Well done.
Do take a moment this afternoon to reflect on your journey, where you have been, what it was like and who supported you. How did that feel? Who do you remember and who do you need to say thank you to? Make sure that you do that today!

You are joining a huge network of alumni from around the world and I encourage you to take advantage of that by getting involved in our alumni networks and NCUK student events when you come to the UK later this year and for new students, in the future.
I am looking forward to meeting you all later this afternoon and equally, I am looking forward to meeting you all again in a few years’ time to see where you have come and what great things, I know you will have achieved.
I have also had the very great pleasure of being a part of the NCUK Prize ceremony at Aston University in November last year where NCUK was able to present our most successful students with prizes for academic and pastoral achievement. The ceremony is always noteworthy and last year featured:
A prize fund of over ￡50,000 awarded by NCUK and winners from over 17 nationalities
I look forward to welcoming students from No 7 Middle School International Department at this year’s NCUK student awards in the UK in November this year.
